Best of 2018

Cheryl from Meadow Mist Designs - you might remember her from my 2018 Online Quilters Meet & Greet - is holding her fourth Best of Party.
The only rule is to share my favourite 5 posts from 2018.

I tend to be most interested in my latest quilt designs.
My Blue & White tile quilt pattern series will begin in January, 2019.

Here's a sneak peak at the first block, which is ready to layer and add the quilting using embroidery floss.
I'm very excited about this wall hanging quilt!
[I'll also be including larger size blocks, for those who prefer to make it a bed quilt.]

But if I had to pick...

If you haven't read those before, I hope you enjoy reading them now!

And for more great Best of posts from other bloggers who quilt, visit the Linky Party list here.

Happy Stitching in 2019!

Calling All Crazy Quilting Lovers & Other News

Free Block of the Month News...

[Please Note: This section is my free quilt patterns - posted when I can - and not necessarily monthly, due to my current low electricity issues at this time of year.
Sign up for my newsletter to be notified when the next part is available, so you don't miss anything.]

The current 'A Novel Idea' row #2 will be online next.
Rows #3 & #4 and finishing the quilt are still coming.

I already have the next quilt design planned...It's a fun quilt for candy lovers!

Crazy Quilt Lovers...

Anyone interested in stitching along to make my very popular, free Block of the Month 'Crazy Quilt Monthly Memories', throughout 2019?
Let me know if there would be interest in it.
If yes, I'll be posting in online on another site.

You can see it and my other Crazy Quilting designs here.

The daylight will start to get longer in the next few days - very happy about that!!

Progress of a Different Kind

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!!!!
It's a mostly sunny afternoon here, and all the batteries are being charged back up.

The early, extra cold weather has made it necessary to re-stock my mudroom with wood, already!
I am, of course, enjoying seeing the animal tracks in the snow.
Of the larger animals, I've spotted coyote, bobcat (not surprised with the many, many rabbit tracks around), grouse & deer - always fun to see evidence that they are around!

I've been making good progress...of a different kind, too.

Hand stitching, of course.
This is the back view of my Stained Glass Strings quilt.

But also, to mix things up, I've been taking some time to soak some postage stamps that I received (removing them from the envelope paper), to add to my stamp collection.
See the stamps with the quilts?

And I've not even needed to get out the deck of cards to entertain myself.
All of these need no electricity, and allow me good creative thinking time!

That's lead me to design, in my head, a whole bunch of interesting quilts.
I did make a sketch and note of each, of course.
There are sew, sew many new quilt designs I hope to add to my site, as I'm able.
Stay tuned, as the adventure continues! :)

Happy Stitching!

Making the Quilts that Warm Hearts!

It's coming...Old Man Winter has done a hard knock at the door this week, with the first snow of the season - which has now melted, but the double digit windchill temperatures and strong winds are making it feel like it's mid-winter....brrrrr.
When I was enjoying my morning coffee, snuggled under a quilt, by the woodstove, the phrase 'Making the Quilts that Warm Hearts' came to me!
And they do just that!! :)

So the quilts you make are treasured for years, you know I always recommend a quilt label added to the back of every quilt you make.
My Fabric Quilt Labels make that easy - and now I have Version 2 available, too!
See both versions of the Fabric Quilt Labels here.
I have added a 'partial free shipping' option for those who don't qualify for the free shipping!

November Update

Even though I've not been able to post as much on my social media sites and here, this autumn, know that I'm around - making great progress on some new quilt designs!
As you probably already know, this time of year is more challenging for me electricity wise, though I've learnt to work with what I get.

I'm especially excited about two new quilts that I'll be offering in January, if all goes a planned!

Some of my progress has been working on stitching my newest Stained Glass Strings quilt.
Here's a lovely green block completed.

And a black & white one.
Scrappy fun!!

Also, since I wrote last, I've added the next blocks to the newest series quilts (Storyland & If I Drive...), plus Rows #1 & #5 of A Novel Idea.

You can see them and the other news here.
