Crazy Quilt Inspiration from a Kindred Spirit
Lucy Maud Montgomery, the author of the wonderful Anne of Green Gables books, made this elaborately embroidered crazy quilt, while she was in her teens!
She sent away for scraps of rich satins and velvets from fabric companies and used pieces of fabric from family members' clothing, including pieces of her mother's wedding dress, to create the quilt.
